One of my songs was performed at Obama’s Aloha Inaugural Ball.
This is truly unbelievable. At the Aloha Inaugural Ball for President Barack Obama on January 18, 2009 which was held at the Marriot Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C., the band played my composition “E Wai’anae” and a hula was presented. Now how cool is that.

Man, people go to extremes for really senseless things. Isnʻt this a freedom of speech too? I mean, if you donʻt want to hear that word, donʻt turn on your radio or tv. Itʻs your choice to listen or not to listen.

Pedestrian hit in Kailua Town
A male pedestrian was hit by a speeding driver in Kailua. I live in this town and it has become such an insensitive place. Drivers have no courtesy at all. It was inevitable that someone was going to get hurt.
I live on a street that feeds into Oneawa and have such a difficult time getting on to Oneawa because of speeding and drivers who block you out, not letting you come on to the main...

Peace Through Music
I just received an email from my friend Kawika Kahiapo who sent a link to a video interview of a gentleman named Mark Johnson, a Grammy award winning producer/engineer. I gotta tell you, it was the most inspirational thing Iʻve experienced in such a long time.
The man transcends race, religion, political views and gets right to the heart of humanity through music.

Clyde Kindy Sproat.
I am saddened to to read that the legendary Hawaiian musician Uncle Clyde Kindy Sproat passed away on December 14th. He was such a wonderful man and a jovial spirit. I remember the first time I met him; I was a kid visiting my uncle and aunty in Niuli‘i, Kohala. Kindy arrived with an “ukulele at a family party. He sat down and sang all night, interspersing quips between each song. We laughed...
